Cynthia Hovland

Cynthia Hovland grew up in Washington State, in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. As an adult she moved to Arizona for the first time where her two children were born; after which she lived in N. Mexico and Oregon. She lived for several years in Germany, teaching English and leading tours in a Baroque Castle. In prior and subsequent years, she also traveled extensively back and forth and throughout Europe, the United Kingdom and Asia many times. Upon returning to the US she lived for a few more years in Oregon before returning to Arizona. She now lives in Tucson, finding inspiration in the desert she so loves.

As a child, Cynthia dreamed of traveling. She has lived her passion for traveling the past two decades, visiting and experiencing sacred sights on four continents.

Stone circles and other ancient megalithic sites have always had a particularly strong draw and call Cynthia to them as if they were far-away beacons. In these places her natural sensitivity, curiosity and tendency to connect with unseen realms, have resulted in many of the sacred encounters in her new book, of the same title. Her book, Sacred Encounters, highlights her spiritual experiences on many of those travels, along with her other rich and varied experiences in the spiritual world.

Cynthia’s love for natural world, and spending time in it, has created many opportunities for rich interactions with the elemental world. In her upcoming book, she will share the experiences and insights gained from these interactions with this vitally important, often unseen world of nature.

In addition, her spiritual path has led her to study many healing modalities. These studies have led her to letting her intuitive hands and spiritual awareness guide her spiritual healing sessions with clients. Cynthia also works with and uses essential oils.

She has a passion for and has studied Astrology for over 17 years and provides astrological consultations for clients. She specializes in personal growth and spiritual perspective astrology, helping the client really feel “seen and appreciated”, sometimes for the first time.

Following a spiritual vision, Cynthia became a Waldorf teacher in Tucson, at the Tucson Waldorf School, where she taught grades 1-6. During these years she developed a special love for the mythology, art and music she taught to the children.

She loves music, dance and singing and is a devoted member of a Brazilian Samba Band, “Batucaxe” in Tucson.

In addition to her writing, Cynthia also loves to discover the spiritual world shining through her watercolor and oil pastel artwork.

Cynthia also teaches art and music classes to children.
